IT’S 2012 ALREADY!

The market of life is truly saturated. All sorts are on display. We all buy into it consciously or unconsciously. Whichever way, our choices is our lives. Our lives our persons (individually or collectively). 2012 offers to every one of us a unique beginning. A beginning physically and spiritually. The one who sent us here says after six, take a rest on the seventh; and begin anew on the eighth. Eight is therefore very significant.

I am sure those of you who read the Ben Carson story (Principal’s holiday assignment to S.T.T.R. College students) with your children have been able to buy an idea or two on how to better the lot of your children or at least, you must have been encouraged to reinforced some of those values that is so dear to your family. We are saying the same thing. Life is sowing and reaping. The good thing is that it is never too late to start. So, you can begin now. Just ensure that you keep at it; very shortly the world will be spying out on you.

Take time out: Saturdays, evenings, or even Sunday evenings to go over your children’s school work with them. Don’t ask me: what if that is not my discipline? As long your child is in it, you must identify with him/her. Your interest is the tonic they need to excel.

My own father is a stark illiterate but his love and interest pulled me out of the doldrums of negativity, pessimism into the realm of explosive possibilities and optimism. What would your child or ward say of you in no distant future? IT’S 2012 ALREADY!
