The present 6-3-3-4 educational policy and System is the aftermath of the 1969 Curriculum Conference on education. This system involves a student spending Six years in the Primary School and then proceeding to the Junior Secondary School for another three years. These three years is based on a continuous assessment system of evaluation and at the end of the course examination is conducted by the State Ministry of Education leading to the award of the J.S.S. Certificate. The Junior Secondary School Curriculum is both academic and Pre-vocational.
After the J.S.S. examination, successful candidates may then proceed to the Senior Secondary School where they will spend another two or three years.
At the end of the course they will sit for the IGCSE, GCE O, Level, and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination to be conducted by the West African Examination Council.
The subjects offered at the Junior Secondary level consist of Core subjects, Pre-vocational and non pre-vocational subjects

Due to the importance of Physical Education as a subject at the J.S.S. level, participation in Physical Education by all students both theoretically and practically is now mandatory. Special Physical Education Program (workout in the gym) is now in the pipeline to cater for all categories of Students who cannot take part in the regular Physical Education program. Parents are especially advised to submit authentic Medical Certificate of their wards health status to facilitate the School Program.
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
Assessment under the new National Policy on Education is of a continuous nature.
Their continuous Assessment in each subject shall be based on the following:
2 Monthly Tests
5 Take home Assignments
Weekly exercises
1 Project End of Term Examination
Promotion to the next class is based on the annual Summary, Punctuality to School and regularity in school and classes is an integral aspect of continuous assessment. No excuse will be accepted for failure to comply with the above as and at when due.
