From my earliest days at S.T&T, I was taught that excellence was not just about grades, but about character. The school’s core values: discipline, confidence, and integrity, along with the guiding principles to stand for the truth, tell the truth, and trust in God, shaped the foundation of who I am today.

Those values were not abstract ideas; they were lived out daily in the classroom, on the field, and in leadership. As a student, I had the privilege of representing S.T&T on national stages, most notably at the Cowbell Mathematics Competition, where I won at the state level and competed nationally. That experience taught me how preparation, discipline, and composure under pressure lead to excellence. These lessons continue to serve me far beyond mathematics.

My time as Head Boy further refined my sense of responsibility and leadership. Leading peers,

working with teachers, and representing the school required integrity, accountability, and the

courage to do what was right, even when it was difficult. Through debates, public speaking

engagements, and competitions, I developed confidence in communication and learned how to

speak clearly, persuasively, and with conviction. These skills are now central to my work in

academia, medicine, and leadership.

S.T&T also emphasized the importance of developing the whole person. Through sports and

athletics, I learned teamwork, resilience, and consistency. That foundation is why I remain

deeply committed to fitness today and now compete in powerlifting, where discipline and mental

toughness are as important as physical strength.

After graduating, the values instilled at S.T&T continued to guide my journey. I went on to study

Mechanical Engineering at Howard University, graduating summa cum laude on a full academic

scholarship, and later pursued graduate and doctoral training at Stanford University. Today, I am

working at the intersection of medicine, technology, and research to improve how cardiovascular

diseases are diagnosed and treated. I have published scientific papers, presented research

internationally, and held leadership roles within Stanford’s medical and engineering

communities.

Yet through all these achievements, the core remains the same: discipline in how I work,

confidence in how I lead, and integrity in how I live. The principles I learned at S.T&T, to stand

for truth, speak truth, and trust in God, continue to shape my decisions, my leadership, and my

purpose.

S.T&T did more than prepare me for exams; it prepared me for life. It taught me how to lead,

how to think, how to speak, and how to carry myself with honor. For that, I will always be

grateful

Class of 2012

ST&T was the beginning of the educational journey for so many in my family. Our parents enrolled us into what was then Ms Maggie's rapidly growing "playgroup," a school-like environment for very young children. From the playgroup classes, nearly all my siblings and I continued the ST&T journey through primary school.

On this journey and at such a young age, we were taught the importance of faith and hardwork. Early morning assemblies were filled with bible readings, reflections, and reminders from teachers that academic excellence was not a choice. It was a habit they wanted to cultivate in each student. These two principles of faith and hard work  were always entwined with the values of discipline, confidence, and integrity---the three-part school motto that undoubtedly shaped the moral and intellectual foundation of many students, having been repeated and internalised by those who viewed themselves as part of the ST&T family.

And it was a family: from teachers who encouraged you to be the best to administrative staff who remembered every student by name and a founder who was invested in the success of every child who came through her door. ST&T encouraged students to be leaders, to be held accountable, to think big, and to strive to contribute positively and meaningfully to our community and the world at large.

Unsurprisingly, the experience continues to be instrumental in the journey after ST&T for so many, including me. We pursue further education with a clearly defined purpose, including better positioning ourselves to contribute to the world we live in, from our small communities to much larger constituents. We begin our first job with confidence, knowing that both discipline and integrity will help us keep it and move ahead. And when placed in positions of leadership or knowledge-sharing, we remember how important it is to treat everyone we encounter with respect, just as we saw school leaders and teachers do at ST&T. For me, the ST&T experience I had so many years ago remains a series of invaluable life lessons.

Class of 2020

My name is Nmesomachi Erugo, an alumna of S.T. & T. Regency Schools. I am a law graduate of Baze University, Abuja, and I recently completed my one-year programme at the Nigerian Law School.

I joined S.T. & T. Regency Schools in September 2014 and graduated in 2020, serving as the Student Representative Council (S.R.C) President (Girl) during my time there. S.T. & T. positively influenced my life, shaped my character, and built my confidence. I truly cannot tell my story of confidence without attributing it to Ms Maggie. During my time at S.T. & T., Ms Maggie was particularly intentional about grooming us to be confident, to carry ourselves well, to be global thinkers, and to be respectful individuals.

She ensured that her girls were confident in the way they spoke, walked, and showed up. I remember when she introduced us to wearing two-inch heels, simply to teach us how to strut confidently.

When I got into the university, I was always confident enough to answer questions, regardless of whether I would get the answer right or wrong. I constantly remembered Ms Maggie’s words: “When you are on stage, believe you are the only genius in the room. Every other person is stupid, stupid, stupid — and you are the genius.” That mindset alone gave me the confidence I needed.

Learning at S.T. & T. Regency Schools was holistic. The core values of Discipline, Confidence, Integrity, and Accountability have remained my personal guiding principles.

At Baze university, I served as Pioneer President, Baze Debate Club; Deputy Country Director, Federation of African Law Students (Nigerian Directorate); Clinic Head, Baze University Law Clinic; Chairman, Baze Law Students’ Society Law Week Planning Committee; and Representative, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Law Clinic, amongst others.

I am the host of the Soma On The Mic Podcast, where I share valuable insights, advice, and experiences. Additionally, I am a member of the Youth Against Human Trafficking Project Committee. I have actively planned and participated in seminars and conferences focused on social justice, ethics, values, and anti-corruption. Notably, I participated in the Youth Leadership Debates 2.0, where I emerged as a Semi-Finalist, engaging in thought-provoking debates centered on critical national issues.

S.T. & T. Regency Schools did not only educate me academically; it groomed me. The confidence, values, and discipline I carry today are a direct reflection of the foundation laid during my formative years at the school.

Class of 2011

From my earliest days in preschool, this school laid the foundation for who I am today. It was more than a place of learning; it was a place of character building, discipline, confidence, and purpose. Every stage of my journey here shaped me academically, socially, and personally.

Graduating as Head Girl remains one of my proudest achievements. That role taught me leadership, responsibility, service, and the importance of representing others with integrity. The school groomed me to speak with confidence, lead with empathy, and believe in my abilities lessons that have stayed with me far beyond the classroom.

Stepping into the outside world after graduation came with its challenges, but I was well prepared. The values instilled in me at STTR such as hard work, excellence, resilience, and faith helped me navigate life beyond school and continue to excel.

I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, building on the strong academic foundation I received. Professionally, I have worked with several reputable organizations, including Morgan Stanley, where I spent four years growing and developing as an Investor Relations Associate. That experience refined my analytical skills, professionalism, and understanding of the financial world. Today, I am proud to serve as an Investor Services Supervisor at another firm, continuing to grow in my career and leadership capacity.

Beyond my corporate career, I also embraced entrepreneurship. I started an events planning business, which is currently on pause as I focus on building a new business venture that will be launching soon, by God’s grace. This entrepreneurial journey reflects the confidence, creativity, and ambition that were nurtured in me from a young age.

Looking back, I can confidently say this school influenced me positively in every sense. It groomed me to dream boldly, work diligently, lead courageously, and walk in purpose. I am a product of the strong values, guidance, and education I received here, and I carry that legacy with pride into every chapter of my life.

Class of 2012

My journey with S.T&T began at a very early age, from preschool, during my formative years when my character, interests, and sense of self were just beginning to take shape. Looking back now, it is clear that S.T&T did much more than provide an education. It laid a foundation of values that have guided me through my academic, professional, and personal milestones.

Growing up within the S.T&T environment, confidence was nurtured intentionally. I was encouraged to speak up, to lead, and to believe that my voice mattered. This consistent encouragement shaped the person I became and led me to serve as Head Girl in Year 12. That role refined my leadership skills, sense of accountability, and commitment to service. It taught me that confidence is not about being loud, but about being assured in who you are and standing firmly by your values.

That confidence followed me into higher education. I graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Texas A&M University, earning recognition such as Outstanding Senior in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, Gold Medallion Scholar, and First Place Undergraduate Research Presentation. I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Geology at Oklahoma State University, while serving as a researcher on a U.S. Department of Energy funded carbon sequestration project. During this period, my research earned multiple competitive grants and awards, resulted in a peer reviewed publication, and was presented at national and international conferences.

As my career progressed, I continued to build on this foundation by earning an MBA with a focus on strategy and finance. During my MBA, I completed several internships across energy, technology, and finance, including roles in corporate finance, business strategy, risk advisory, and operations. These experiences broadened my perspective and allowed me to work closely with executive leadership on high impact initiatives.

Discipline played a critical role as I navigated a deliberate career transition from corporate finance into project management. Moving across functions and industries required adaptability, continuous learning, and consistency. By applying the same discipline I developed early on, I successfully led cross functional teams, managed complex initiatives, and delivered measurable results. This ultimately led me into a project management role, where I now work as part of a team driving strategic change initiatives.

Integrity has remained a guiding principle throughout every phase of my journey. S.T&T instilled in me the importance of respect, responsibility, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. This value has shaped how I lead, collaborate, and make decisions, whether managing financial risk, guiding teams through change, or working with diverse stakeholders. It has allowed me to build trust and credibility in every environment I have been part of.

Life beyond school came with its own realities and pressures, but I felt equipped to navigate them. The transition from student to professional, and later through career reinvention, was supported by the confidence to take initiative, the discipline to keep growing, and the integrity to remain grounded. These values have enabled me to excel academically, adapt professionally, and continue evolving as a leader.

Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am deeply grateful for the role S.T&T played in shaping who I am. S.T&T did not simply prepare me academically, but supported my growth in a well rounded and intentional way, equipping me with values that continue to guide my life. I carry those lessons with pride as a reminder of where I come from, and S.T&T will always remain a significant part of my story. It gave me the foundation to grow, lead, and succeed with confidence, discipline, and integrity.
